Smart contracts, such as those used by Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies, will fundamentally change the way we interact and do business by streamlining processes, reducing risk and eliminating intermediaries. However, one thing that all Smart Contract platforms lack is a definite way to prove that something or someone was in a certain place at a specific time. An oracle of proof of location authorized, without trust and decentralized is essential for the idea that intelligent contracts are adopted by the dominant world.

The XYO network will be the oracle of definitive location due to two basic concepts that it introduced: proof of origin and bound witnesses. The concept of Bound Witnesses ensures that two different components of the XYO network were in the same location at the same time. The proof of origin guarantees that the information provided by a component is valid and resistant to forgery. Detailed information on these two concepts is available in the white paper of the XYO Network. 

Providing an authorized proof of location has the potential to change the world. These are some of the ways in which the XYO network will disrupt existing industries.

The XYO network encourages the reporting of locations and the ledger file by granting XYO tokens to nodes within the web. For example, when a last mile messenger as a UPS driver finds an XYO network node in its route, the node will register its XYO network accounting book to be archived. The use of cryptoeconomics in this way takes advantage of a key feature of blockchain technology: it is a decentralized and unfounded system. This means that it can offer third-party verification and a degree of reliability that current tracking systems simply can not provide.

Solution

By using XYO Network and XYO Tokens, companies can offer an independently confirmed ledger to track each step of a shipment's progress, starting at the dispatch center and ending with secure delivery of the package into the customer's home. As a non-trusted and decentralized system, XYO Network provides independent confirmation not only of the delivery of a package, but of its entire shipping history. This also allows a retailer or e-commerce site to offer payment at the time of delivery, using a smart Ethereum contract to protect the merchant against fraud or loss. 

How does it work

When a customer completes an order, an intelligent Ethereum contract is created that will release the payment to the merchant at the time of successful delivery of the purchased product. The shipment will include an XYO Network Sentinel, a low-cost electronic device that records its interactions with other devices in the XYO network in its blockchain ledger. Other devices in the XYO network will also record their interactions with the packets that are sent. Each of these interactions will be verifiable independently, affirming a network of locational certainty that extends to the point of origin of the shipment. When the shipment arrives at its destination, as confirmed by its interaction with XYO network devices within the buyer's home, the intelligent contract will be fulfilled and the payment will be released. In case of dispute,

The terminal point of the transaction, the point where the package is delivered and the payment is released, will be determined at the time the order is placed. Amazon has experimented with multiple secure delivery systems, including lockers in public places like convenience stores and even electronic locks that give home access to delivery teams. XYO network devices within these secure locations will confirm delivery. In an Amazon locker, the package sent will interact not only with your locker, but also with the XYO network devices in other lockers and with the customers who use them. At the customer's home, the nodes of the XYO network could include the customer's phone, the IoT devices and even the Amazon Echo that was used to place the order.

COMPONENTS OF THE XYO NETWORK 

The XYO network has four main components, sentinels, bridges, archivists and fortune tellers. These four components allow the creation of geographic consensus and the verification without confidence of the location data. This means that when you write an intelligent contract that specifies that an object appear in a specific XY coordinate, if it appears there, you will know that it was in that location with absolute certainty. All this is done without the risk of falsifying the location signaling devices verified by thousands of Sentinels in the XY Oracle network with the longer source test chain (which generates greater confidence in the heuristic).

The components of Sentinel are heuristic witnesses. They observe the heuristic and endorse the certainty and precision of the heuristic producing temporary records. The most important aspect of a Sentinel is that it produces records that fortune-tellers can be sure comes from the same source by adding proof of origin.

Bridges are heuristic transcribers. They safely relay the heuristic accounting books of the Sentinels to the Divinators. The most important aspect of a Bridge is that a Diviner can be sure that the heuristic ledgers that are received from a Bridge have not been altered in any way. The second most important aspect of a bridge is that they add an additional proof of origin.

The archival components store the heuristic in a decentralized way with the aim of storing all the historical records, but without that requirement. Even if some data is lost or becomes temporarily unavailable, the system continues to operate, but with reduced accuracy. The archivists also index the ledgers so that they can return a series of accounting data if necessary. The archivists store raw data and are only paid for the recovery of the data. Storage is always free.

A Diviner answers a certain question by analyzing historical data stored by the XYO network. To achieve this, the heuristic stored in the XYO network must have a high level of proof of origin to measure the validity and accuracy of the heuristic when judging the witness based on its proof of origin. Since the XYO network is a system without trust, fortune tellers should be encouraged to provide an honest analysis of the heuristic. Unlike Sentinels and Bridges, fortune-tellers use Proof of work to add answers to the blockchain.
